Day 1 - Sigiriya

Sigiriya

Early morning, you will depart to Sigiriya “The Lions rock” the 8th World Wonder is in our Central plains was chosen by King Kasyapa in the 5th century AD as his citadel. Jutting out of the countryside this famous rock is over 200 meters high and dominates the surrounding terrain. The King ruled for 18 years from this rock fortress, and is a colourful part of the Islands history .It is a marvel of engineering .The wall murals and the lions paws are a marvel of Art and architecture. The view of the surrounding countryside from the top is astounding. The Palace and its gardens on the crest and the design of surrounding landscape are beyond compare. Sigiriya has been designated an 8th wonder of the world and is listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. A must visit for any traveller!

Then Checking at your hotel in Sigiriya

Minneriya National Park

In the evening start your evening safari at Minneriya national park. May to October is the best period to visit Minneriya National Park in view of the famous Gathering of the wild elephant herds. The gathering is documented as the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. During the dry season of August to September each year, herds up to 300 elephants are seen within a few square kilometers of the vast Minneriya Reservoir. This Elephant Gathering is a thrilling spectacle that would be remembered for rest of the life of all those who were fortunate enough to witness it. 24 species of mammals and over 170 species of birds have been recorded here and out Of the 25 species of reptiles recorded in the park 8 are endemic.

After your Safari back to your hotel and stay overnight there

Day 2

Pidurangala

Next day morning after breakfast leave to Pidurangala to see Sigiriya’s most incridible view point.Pidurangala Rock mirrors the more famous and popular Sigiriya Rock in so many ways. They are both volcanic hills rising out of the Sri Lankan jungle, and they are both richly steeped in history. Pidurangala Rock is only a 20-minute walk from Sigiriya. , in my opinion, the view from the top of Pidurangala is more impressive than Sigiriya. Climbing Pidurangala Rock completes the history of King Kasyapas’ reign, offers a chance to explore a more natural setting, visit cave temples, see what was once the largest brick reclining Buddha in the world, and experience history without the crowds and only takes about 2 hours to complete.

Then checkout from your hotel and Visit dambulla Golden Cave temple

Dambulla Golden Rock Cave Temple

The Golden Temple! This world heritage site is in the central plains of Sri Lanka and within the cultural triangle. Its history dates back to the 3rd to 7th centuries BC with new evidence showing even older occupation .Its magnificent rock cave temple complexes are well preserved and leave the visitor with a sense of awe. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include Vishnu and the Ganesha. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square metres (23,000 sq ft). Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara, and Buddha’s first sermon. After that drive back to your hotel or air port

Shane W

Best tour company in sri lanka!

I stayed in the RIU In ahungalla! I done lots of amazing things and 80percent of my memories are thanks to this tour company...

I am very dubious about using local tour guides but took the gamble and thanks to trip advisor we contacted 'Tony' and from the UK we already started planning response time was good and English was really good... Very easy to contact... And very polite!

Tony turned up at the hotel spot on time never late and spoke to us about what we could do and prices and then we customised one 2 day tour he had no issues with!

The prices was brilliant compared to other people in the hotel which choose the beach boys!

He turned up on time every time and was very knowledgeable and made you feel very welcome and comfortable the driver was spot on was such a good service... All I can say is you'd be stupid to not give him a try rather than paying top rate... Seriously is worth talking with him... You will not be disappointed!!!
